Lisa is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LMAC) with a strong foundation in psychology, addiction, and trauma care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas, where she focused on developing expertise in addressing complex challenges and fostering meaningful change.

With over 15 years of experience working with adults, families, and individuals, providing support and guidance to thousands of people struggling with addiction and trauma. Her professional career reflects a deep commitment to serving the needs of adults and families, both in the military and private sectors, as a Social Worker.

She has studied numerous modalities to bring healing to those in need and is a lifelong learner, inspired by the abundance of opportunities available to broaden and enrich the lives of her clients. Ms. Garland holds advanced certifications in the use of CPTT I and II for treating complex trauma and has specialized training in ACT, CPT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed CBT for individuals coping with addiction and trauma.

Her expertise extends to areas such as loss and trauma, Social Emotional Learning Initiatives, Family Systems, Positive Parenting, Crisis Intervention, Mindfulness, Yoga and Breath Work, Response to Intervention, Restorative Justice, ADHD, Autism, and Learning Skills. She is especially sensitive to clients who experience their environment as an unsettling forest of sounds, energy, and demands.

Lisa has also been a guest speaker on Talk Radio, discussing topics such as Crisis Intervention and providing guidance on helping others in times of need. Her volunteer efforts include assisting individuals on probation, engaging in crisis intervention, and serving those less fortunate.

In addition to her holistic clinical expertise, Ms. Garland has a background in art, business, and communication. She enjoys teaching clients how to ignite their innate creative abilities to tap into their intuitive wisdom.

Lisa began her career as an Addiction Counselor for both inpatient and outpatient programs. She represented individuals in the Kansas Court System for the Rights Division of Drug Court, advocating for the myriad needs of clients brought to Drug Court for abuse, neglect, and mental health concerns. This experience cultivated her passion for advocacy and social justice, which continues to shape her approach to therapy and care today.
